A great tool from Chasing Excellence. Read through once per week, update as needed. “If your habits do not support yur goals, one of them has to change.”
Vision
My family and friends know how much I care for each of them as an individual. I ensure they know I am present when we interact, and that I think of them even when we are not present.
I draw interest because of the challenges I pursue and the way I communicate my goals, processes and outcomes with outsiders.
I focus on a few priorities at a time, remain focused on my Goals, and say “No” to the things that are not important to me or are not the outcomes I am chasing.
I am building my life and work environment such that I can choose my travel and calendar.
I am an athlete who trains, eats, and recovers to be a better skier, mountain biker, and golfer.
I am improving in the important areas of my life: relationships, eating, training, living life on my own terms.
I look good.
I wake each day with a plan and actionable steps to achieve my Goals. (Guess I need some Goals June 1 2026)
I turn ideas into actions quickly and efficiently.
Certainty Window: In the next 7 mos (through 2026) I will improve my weekly cadence to achieve the above. I will create or land a role that fits my goals and priorities.
Anti-Vision
I am not unorganized, indecisive, irrelevant, or stagnant.
I do not tolerate that which, and those whom, wastes my time.
I am not drifting; I am chasing my version of an extraordinary life.
I do not run from challenges; I chase Excellence.
I do not let losses sour my optimism about life & my capabilities
Values
Family First. There is an ebb and flow to a life lived well. Family matters and improved outcomes for my loved ones are my focus. I also recognize opportunities or challenges with business can sometimes demand 110% of one’s time and focus. I acknowledge this is a part of an extraordinary life.
Happy, Humble, Hungry. This is how I want to feel each day. These are characteristics that I seek in others that I choose to spend time with in business or life.
I consider myself an Athlete. I get joy and satisfaction from athletic accomplishments.
Time is our most precious resource. Our lives’ clocks only move in one direction. I use my time purposefully.
Calm. The more things around me get stressful, the more calmly I assess, decide, and act.
